The workplace safety calendar of the Vinci Group for the year 2021 was already the fifth of its kind, for which I had the opportunity to create the illustrations during my time at Artist Design. The main idea was to present a company site as an introduction, where all subsequent scenes are visibly situated.
The biggest challenge in this project was to expand the well-known mascot "Mr Energies" from previous calendars with nearly a dozen human colleagues. While character modelling was not entirely new to me, it was a unique task to create a relatively large number of characters and equip them with animation skeletons to position them in any desired pose – all within a limited timeframe.
The layout of the calendar for different companies within the Vinci Group, as well as in several languages, was designed by Creative Director Aksel Wager and Jörg Fröhling.
