The design for EC POWER's booth at the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2022 in Milan – one of the world's leading trade fairs in the HVAC and plumbing sector – was largely based on the successful booth from MCE 2018.
The trade fair takes place every two years, but the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally, the plan for that edition included using real ivy on the booth. However, for the 2022 version, this was replaced with printed greenery. At the client’s request, grapevines were chosen for the graphics instead of ivy.
Instead of the over 5-meter-high video walls, the 2022 booth featured four large screens, each approximately 2 meters wide. The videos shown on the monitors were created by Artist Design as part of the "Easy CHP" campaign. The concept and hand-drawn animations were developed by Creative Director Aksel Wagner, while video editing was carried out by Jörg Fröhling. I myself took on the role of the "actor": it is my hands folding and arranging the folding rulers into various shapes in the films.
In addition to my usual responsibilities for trade show booths – general design, visualisation, and coordination with the booth constructor, trade fair management, and the client – I was also tasked with creating the backgrounds for the large-scale graphics, including the grapevines.
