The ISH, alongside the MCE in Milan, is one of the world's most important trade fairs for the HVAC and plumbing sector. In 2017, Artist Design managed several projects at Messe Frankfurt and showcased the EC POWER stand for the first time in the brand-new Hall 12 – a special highlight.
The 170 m² EC POWER stand was one of the largest projects I contributed to. Its design was based on the EC POWER presentation at the 2018 World Gas Conference in Washington D.C., adapted with the addition of a rear wall to the originally open portal structure.
The front section of the stand featured the four Power Units at the core of the client’s product range, alongside a bar with seating. Technical details and new products were displayed in the outer areas and on a prominent stele. Two 3D-printed models, based on my designs – a cutaway house with a CHP unit and the EC POWER house – were also exhibited. Meeting areas, separated by slatted walls, were located at the back of the stand.
The suspended installation of yellow cube lamps, used successfully in 2018, returned as a key design element. Additionally, the vertically oriented LED video walls, a staple of Artist Design since 2018, were featured again. For ISH, entirely new and complex animations were developed, which I co-conceived with Creative Director Aksel Wagner and realised in collaboration with Jörg Fröhling.
My responsibilities included, as in other projects, design and concept development, communication with the stand builder, fair management, and the client, as well as managing orders, cost control, media organisation, and logistics.
