The renowned "Grand Stand" book series by FRAME Publishing has been documenting international trade fair and exhibition design since 2003. Issues 3 and 4 (published in 2010 and 2013) featured a total of five exhibition stands designed by the Laborrotwang collective, of which I was a member until 2012.
These projects included stands for Atomic, Odlo, Merrell, and MBT – Masai Barefoot Technology, showcased at ISPO Munich, Outdoor Friedrichshafen, and GDS Düsseldorf. With the exception of the ODLO stand at ISPO in January 2012, I contributed to various aspects of all these projects.
In Grand Stand 3, a double-page spread is dedicated to the Atomic stand at ISPO 2009, featuring my technical drawings and concept sketches. Additionally, my work on the "MBT Timeline" for the Masai Barefoot Technology stand at GDS 2009 in Düsseldorf was published. This exhibition wall illustrated the brand's history, combining physical exhibits with supplementary text and imagery.
The Merrell stand at Outdoor 2011 is among the most significant projects from my time with Laborrotwang, as the fundamental design concept featuring large, polygonal sails was my idea and, in my view, was very well executed. I was also responsible for creating the large-scale graphics for this stand.
