"Zahlen Bitte! / Numbers please!", Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum, WADK / Prof. Gerhard Diel and Laborrotwang,Paderborn, 2008
While my professional focus later shifted strongly toward trade fair design, I have always regarded exhibition design as one of the most meaningful and intellectually rewarding disciplines within the design field.
During my studies, I contributed to early exhibition projects in collaboration with renowned agencies such as Bertron & Schwarz, ART+COM, and Schiel Projekt – including the redesign of the Museum of Natural History Berlin, the children’s museum Labyrinth, and a competition entry for an exhibition at the Paulikloster in Brandenburg an der Havel.
After graduating, I co-founded the design group Laborrotwang, which went on to develop exhibitions such as Das Boot Revisited and H.R. Giger. Art – Design – Film in Frankfurt, Bonn, and Tampere, as well as an exhibition on The Buddenbrooks in Lübeck.
Together with former colleagues and under the direction of my professor, I also contributed to the special exhibition "Zahlen, bitte!" at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum, the world’s largest computer museum. We designed large-scale graphic elements for sections covering topics such as mathematical mastery, giant numbers, lucky numbers, and a circus-themed area for children.
A personal milestone is We Want Plastic – Research on Action Figures, developed with Pablo Dornhege. It became our diploma project and included both an exhibition and a publication. My accompanying essay was later featured in the catalogue for Viel mehr als Plastik (2013).
